One of the sharpest asymmetric conflict games ever made, as long as you bring four people who all want to play mean. It rewards table experience, so it's not the game to teach a brand-new group.
Best for: Groups of four who like asymmetry, table talk, and playing the villain
What it is
You're a Chaos god in the Warhammer world, and so are the three people across the table, and you've all shown up to ruin the same map. Eric M. Lang gives each god a completely different job. Khorne wants to kill things. Nurgle wants to rot the land. Slaanesh corrupts people, and Tzeentch plays the long, tricky game. Same board, four separate puzzles, constant elbows.
The catch
Here's the honest part. Two victory paths run at once, points and a doom dial, so you can win by scoring or by tipping the world over. That keeps everyone aggressive instead of turtling. The asymmetry is the whole hook. Real players say each god feels balanced against the others, and the world-condition cards act as a timer that pushes you to move. Nobody gets to sit back and durdle.
Who it's for
The caveats are real. That gorgeous board is genuinely hard to read, and players grumble the dials and territory edges go fuzzy mid-game. It shines at four and sags at three, and a big skill gap stings, since new players get steamrolled by veterans. But get four people who want to play the heel and it sings. Fans rate it above Blood Rage. Bring snacks and a mean streak.

Wingspan
A calm little game about birds that tables get weirdly competitive over.

Azul
Lovely tiles, simple rules, and a surprising amount of quiet cruelty.
