What it is
Here's the pitch. You and one other person each take a faction, Rebels or Empire, and build a deck by buying cards from a shared galaxy row in the middle. You're trying to blow up three of your opponent's bases before they blow up yours. Caleb Grace designed it, and the clever twist is that you can attack that shared row directly. Rebels sabotage it, the Empire sends bounty hunters. So you're never just quietly building in your corner. You're in a fight from turn one.
The catch
Now the honest part. This game is swingy, and reviewers say so plainly. A great early hand snowballs fast, and because there's no cost to dumping your cards, a player who gets rolling can run away with it before you've found your footing. The market flips can also bite you, where buying a card unlocks a perfect grab for your opponent next turn. And once you've played enough, you'll notice certain bases are just better, which flattens the replay value. If you like slow, low-conflict engine-builders, this will stress you out.
Who it's for
So who's it for? People who want a quick, scrappy two-player duel soaked in Star Wars. The asymmetry is real, the theme lands those big visceral moments, and a game's over in about half an hour. It's not the deepest or best-balanced deck-builder on your shelf, and serious competitive players will pick at it. But as a light, mean little duel between two fans, it does exactly what it sets out to do.
